The Zen Guide to Search Engines - Search Engine Submission

After you have completed your website and have your meta tags in order you may want to submit your URL to the major search engines. Many search engines (including some not listed here) will be able to find your site through links from other sites. So be sure there are external links to your site.

Yahoo!
Yahoo Web Search Yahoo is now offering free submission to their search engine - you must register if you are not already a Yahoo member. Submit Your Site to Yahoo Web Search

Yahoo's Directory To submit to Yahoo's directory you must first find the appropriate category for your site. Go to Yahoo's main page and find the best category for your site. Keep clicking down through the subcategories where you think your site belongs, then click on the "suggest a site" link at the bottom of the page and follow the instructions. Make sure you compose a good phrase or sentence (25 words or less) to describe your site. It may take awhile before your site will get reviewed by a Yahoo editor. If you don't hear from them your page was not chosen to be included in their index. They will email you if your site makes it in.
